Mario Damonte († 1974 ) was an Italian racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career

Mario Damonte studied pharmacy and, after completing his doctorate in Turin , ran a well-known pharmacy in the 1950s and 1960s . His wife Bice Como Damonte († 1985), born in Alessandria in 1900, was also a pharmacist.

Damonte was active as a men's driver in motorsport in the 1950s and financed projects by his friend Enrico Nardi , such as the Nardi Bisiluro . His first race was the Targa Florio in 1950 , followed by starts at the Mille Miglia in 1951 and 1952 . He contested the Le Mans 24-hour race four times , where he was able to place once. In 1953 , as a partner of Pierre Louis-Dreyfus, he was 18th in the factory - Osca MT4 1100 Coupe and celebrated a class victory.
