Markus Neumayr (born March 26, 1986 in Hösbach ) is a German-Swiss soccer player who is currently under contract with FC Aarau in the Challenge League .

Career

As a teenager, Neumayr first played for Viktoria Aschaffenburg and SpVgg Hösbach Bahnhof before moving to the youth team at Eintracht Frankfurt . DFB coach Bernd Stöver appointed Neumayr to the squad of the U-17 national team . In 2003 he was transferred to the youth team at Manchester United , where he was promoted to the reserve a year later and to the professional team in 2005. There he was promoted to captain of the reserve team, but was not used in games of the first team.

For the 2006/07 season returned Neumayr back to Germany. For MSV Duisburg he completed his first professional game, where he was used in the right offensive midfield. In total, he came to five missions in the season. After the rise of Duisburg he completed in the coming season on 1 September 2007 after Substitutes shortly before the final whistle his first minutes in the Bundesliga . After that, however, it was not until the end of the season that he came to two more short assignments. At the end of the 2007/08 season, Duisburg was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga .

For the 2008/09 season he moved to the Belgian first division club SV Zulte Waregem , where he only stayed until the winter break. He then moved to Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga-West . On April 15, 2010 it was announced that Neumayr had signed a one-year contract with Wacker Burghausen for the 2010/11 season. But already in the winter break 2010/11 he joined the Swiss first division club FC Thun , where he was regularly used, but did not get stuck. From summer 2011 he played for two years for the Swiss second division club AC Bellinzona . In 2013 he moved to Liechtenstein for FC Vaduz , with whom he took part in the first qualifying round for the UEFA Europa League .

In January 2016 he moved to FC Luzern , where he signed a contract until the end of June 2017. At FC Lucerne he was given the number 77 jersey. Neumayr scored his first goals for Lucerne in a 5-1 home win on April 2, 2016 against his previous club FC Vaduz, both from penalties. On December 21, 2016 Neumayr extended his contract prematurely until the end of June 2019. In 2017, Neumayr, who was married to a Swiss woman, received the Swiss passport.

On June 22, 2017 it was announced that Neumayr was moving to Kasımpaşa Istanbul despite an ongoing contract with FC Luzern. In April 2018, Kasimpasa announced that Markus Neumayr's contract had been terminated. At the end of July 2018, it was announced that Neumayr is moving to Iran and will play for Esteghlal Tehran from the coming season .

After half a year in Iran Neumayr ended his engagement there and returned to Switzerland . Since then, the German has played there for FC Aarau .
