Patrick Rahmen (born April 3, 1969 in Basel ) is a former Swiss football player and current coach. His father is Bruno Rahmen , a former soccer player and multiple Swiss champion with FC Basel.

Career as a player

Patrick Rahmen was active as a player for FC Basel , BSC Young Boys , SR Delsberg and FC Solothurn . For Basel he scored 21 goals in 86 games.

Career as a coach

From 2000 he was a frame coach at SC Dornach . He held this position until December 1, 2004, when he took over the coaching position of the U-18s at FC Basel one day later . In 2007 he became the coach of the second team at FC Basel (U-21).

Since October 17, 2011 he has been assistant coach at the German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV . There he was the assistant coach of Thorsten Fink , who was previously the coach of the professional team at FC Basel. On September 17, 2013, after Fink's dismissal, framework was released until a new head coach was found.

In August 2014, the framework became the “head coach for youth, performance and transition areas” at HSV. On September 16, 2014, Rahmen also became assistant coach of Josef Zinnbauer , the new head coach of the professionals. He later handed over the post of junior coach to Sebastian Harms. On March 22, 2015, Rahmen was released from his duties together with Zinnbauer.

From May 2015, Rahmen trained FC Biel-Bienne . On February 25, 2016, Rahmen resigned as a coach at FC Biel-Bienne and switched to the Super League as an assistant coach at FC Luzern , where he signed a contract until the end of June 2016. He extended his contract with FC Luzern on May 20, 2016 by two years until the end of June 2018. On January 5, 2018, Rahmen and Lucerne's head coach Markus Babbel were dismissed from the club.
