Markus Othmer (* 10. February 1965 in Nuremberg ) is a German radio - and television presenter . In addition to the ARD Sportschau and the ARD Mittagsmagazin , the person from Middle Franconia has been hosting Blickpunkt Sport on BR television since 2005, as was the case from 1993 to 1995 .

Working life

After studying political science at the LMU Munich, among others with Julian Nida-Rümelin , Markus Othmer began his professional training in 1986 at the local radio station Radio F in the publishing house Nürnberger Presse . Among other things, he worked as a freelancer for the kicker sports magazine after completing his internship . From 1989 to 1997 Markus Othmer moderated for the private radio station Antenne Bayern and then switched to Bayern 3 . Here he was one of the MorningShow moderators alternating with Roman Roell until 2008 .

After stations at Sat.1 ( ran - Sat.1 Bundesliga ), ZDF and tm3 ( Champions League ), Markus Othmer is currently one of the sports show commentators at ARD and moderates the sports news in ARD Mittagsmagazin. He can also be seen every Sunday evening as the presenter of the show Blickpunkt Sport on BR television. In addition, he moderates events for the BR such as the championship and cup celebrations of FC Bayern Munich on the Munich town hall balcony or the Bavarian Sports Prize . In 2009 he moderated the World Athletics Championships in Berlin.

Events

Apart from television and radio broadcasts, Markus Othmer has been moderating top-class events such as the Night of the Proms or benefit galas to promote young athletes in Germany for many years . Markus Othmer is a member of the Friends of the Special Olympics Munich 2012 ( Special Olympics National Games ) and a member of the board of trustees and media ambassador of the Bavarian Sports Foundation .

Markus Othmer teaches as a lecturer at universities such as the Technical University of Munich , the Munich Business School , the WHU Düsseldorf and the Ascensio Academy Palma . As a coach , he supports moderators and volunteers as well as top athletes and business executives in presentations and appearances in front of the camera.

Private

Markus Othmer regularly plays soccer for the Unterhaching game association and for the traditional teams of 1. FC Nürnberg . In Nuremberg he was already active as a player in his youth and could later also be heard as a stadium announcer in the Frankenstadion . Markus Othmer has three children, is not married and lives in Munich .
