Marlon Rodrigues Xavier , called Marlon (born May 20, 1997 in Cascavel ) is a Brazilian football player . The left foot predominantly plays on the left side of defense.

Career

Marlon received his football training from Criciúma EC . Here he also made the leap into the professional squad in 2015. On November 7, 2015 he played from the start in Série B against Botafogo FR . In the course of the season, the player came to four more appearances in the league with the first team. At the start of the new season 2016 he ran in all three games of the Primeira Liga do Brasil 2016 and in almost all games in the state championship of Santa Catarina .

In July 2017, Marlon was loaned to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro until the end of the year. The contract contained a purchase option at the end of the loan deal. This was taken care of by FLU. At the beginning of August 2019, Marlon was loaned to the Boavista Porto in Portugal . The contract had a term of one year and included a purchase option at the end of the season. He played his first game for the club in the Primeira Liga . On August 11, 2019, the first matchday of the 2019/20 season , Marlon was in the starting line-up for the home game against Desportivo Aves . Marlon scored the first competitive goal on the fifth day of the championship. At home against Sporting Lisbon , he scored the 1-0 opening goal on September 15. After the end of the season, Marlon initially returned to FLU and was loaned out again in August. He came to Trabzonspor in Turkey .
