Masashi Ōguro ( Japanese 大 黒 将 志 Ōguro Masashi ; born May 4, 1980 in Osaka ) is a Japanese football player . He plays in the position of a striker and was part of the Japanese national soccer team for the 2006 World Cup in Germany .

Masashi Ōguro started his career in his hometown at Gamba Osaka , where he was rarely used at the beginning. In the 2001 season he played for Consadole Sapporo but here he was not used more often. For the 2002 season he returned to Gamba Osaka. In the 2003 season he made the leap into the regular formation for the first time, here he was able to assert himself for the following two seasons. In his last season in Japan for the time being, he won the championship with Gamba Osaka. During the winter break of the 2005/06 season, the Japanese moved abroad for the first time, to Grenoble Foot 38 in Ligue 2 , where he was regularly used. During the first half of the 2006/07 season, however, he changed to the Italian first division club Torino in the Serie A .
