Max Prodinger (* 1976 in Tamsweg , Salzburg ) is an Austrian opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

He has been playing family music since childhood, and at the age of eleven he took organ lessons from the local church organist for the first time. He discovered his enthusiasm for singing when he was at school with his music teacher Peter Grießner, who directed the vocal ensemble “Young Voices”. In this formation Prodinger sang his first solo parts. He later studied singing at the Hamburg Stage School (musical), and later he studied at the Mozarteum University (opera singing). In addition to studying the arts, he also completed a master's degree in economics at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences .

Since 2017 he has been studying postgraduate with Hermine Haselböck-Litassy at the University of Art in Graz .

As part of his international concert activities, Prodinger toured 25 countries and sang numerous roles in musical theater. In 2008 he performed over 100 concerts on tours through Ireland, India , Italy and the United Arab Emirates .

In 2004 Max Prodinger appeared as Lord Latimer in Prince Edward at the Salzburg Festival and in 2008 in the St. Matthew Passion with Gustav Kuhn in Bolzano and Trento . He completed master classes with William Mason , Richard Miller, Gudrun Volkert, Linda Balliro, Lilian Sukis and Heather Hartinger and studied classical opera singing. His professor and mentor is the soprano Horiana Brănişteanu . Max Prodinger works as a freelance artist and gives guest performances at opera houses, theaters and festivals. In 2011 he went on a world tour with the ensemble “SENTO”. In the ARD he appeared as a soloist on the Eurovision recording of the program “The Great Desired Concert of the Operetta”.

In October 2012 he won the Silver Award of the "International NDTV Vocal Competition" at Carnegie Hall in New York . In February 2013 he was a top finalist in the “OMEGA Musica Opera Italiana” competition in Florence and won the jury's honorary award as best male singer and an engagement at the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno . In June 2013 he sang the Wagner roles Siegfried and Siegmund in the children's opera The Secret of the Ring at the “Opernfestival Chiemgau ” at Gut Immling, conducted by Cornelia von Kerssenbrock and directed by Ludwig Baumann ; He also sang the role of Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor there in 2013 . In August 2013 he won the “Grandi Voci” concert prize in Salzburg as part of the “Oper im Berg Festival” under the patronage of chamber singer Grace Bumbry . In September 2013 the nomination and invitation to the "Paris Opera Awards 2014" at the Paris Opera took place . In March 2014 Prodinger's music project TRIONORE , a music trio with tenor, premiered in the Stadtwirt restaurant in Salzburg. In April 2015 he made his debut in a production by the independent ensemble “Opera Incognita” in Munich in the Hubertussaal of Schloss Nymphenburg as Canio in the opera I Pagliacci . In August 2017 he sang the tenor solo part in Verdi's Messa da Requiem at the Ötigheimer Volksschauspiele with the ORSO Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Wolfgang Roese . He made his debut with the same orchestra in January 2018 in the Berlin Philharmonic . In April 2019 he sang the tenor solo in Mozart's Coronation Mass at the international festival “Sacrum in Musica” in Bielsko-Biała for the 20th anniversary . In November 2019 he opened the 3rd Bavarian Opera Ball at Tegernsee together with the soprano Corinna Ruba .
