Maximilian Verri della Bosia

Maximilian Count Verri della Bosia, called von Külberg (born April 20, 1824 in Munich ; † November 7, 1909 there ) was a Bavarian general of the infantry .

Life

The Verri della Bosia family was an old Piedmontese noble family who came to Bavaria with Josef Ascan Count Verri della Bosia (1756-1828). Maximilian Graf Verri della Bosia was born as the son of the Bavarian Major General Carl Graf Verri della Bosia and his wife Friederike, nee. Jordis was born, graduated from the Bavarian Cadet Corps and became a second lieutenant in the infantry in 1843, first lieutenant in 1848 , regimental adjutant in 1849 , captain in 1853 and first adjutant to the commander of the 1st Army Division , Prince Luitpold in 1856 . As a major (from 1866) he took part in the war against Prussia . In 1868 he was transferred to the General Inspectorate of the Army . 1869 Lieutenant Colonel and Commander of the War School . 1870 Commander of the War Academy . After participating in the Franco-Prussian War , he became Chief of Staff of the II Army Corps in 1871 , Major General and Brigade Commander in 1875, and Lieutenant General in 1883 . From 1883 to May 1888 he was Chief of the Army General Staff . In 1888 he was appointed captain general of the Hartschiere bodyguard , and in 1889 general of the infantry in the same function.

Verri della Bosia married Florentine Rudhardt, a daughter of the Bavarian State Councilor Ignaz Ritter von Rudhart , on October 27, 1856 .
