Michael Butrej (born June 26, 1968 in Nuremberg ) is a former German soccer player.

Career

Butrej belonged to the squad of the Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg in the 1991/92 season , but for which he was not used in any league game.

The 1992/93 season he played for Eintracht Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga and was used in 36 point games in which he scored four goals. He crowned his debut on July 11, 1992 (1st matchday) in the home game against SV Meppen with his first goal, the 1-0 winner in the 24th minute. In the Braunschweig team he was also used for the first time in the DFB-Pokal competition and made his debut on September 12, 1992 in a 5-1 second-round victory at SpVgg Bad Homburg , to which he contributed a goal. Then he played the third round game , which was lost 3-1 at MSV Duisburg .

From 1993 to 1997 he was active for league rivals VfL Wolfsburg , started with 29 point games in which he scored two goals, and finished with him in his last season, in which he only played four point games, in second place, which was the first time Promotion to the Bundesliga meant - but without him, he left the club.
