Michael Gurski (born March 21, 1979 in Tübingen ) is a German soccer goalkeeper and financial coach for professional soccer players. He was also a goalkeeping coach in the 3rd division. Most recently, he played at VfB Eichstätt in the Bavarian regional soccer league from October 2017 , before moving to SpVgg Unterhaching in summer 2018 . In 2017 he founded his company FINGES GmbH in the field of player agency, career planning and financial advice.

Active career

At the beginning of his career, Gurski played for the Stuttgarter Kickers and SSV Reutlingen 05 . From 2001 to December 2003 he played for SpVgg Unterhaching and played two games in the second division and eight in the Regionalliga Süd. He could not prevail against the goalkeeper Philipp Heerwagen and moved to the fourth division Borussia Fulda in January 2004 .

After half a year he joined the then regional league team TuS Koblenz in summer 2004 , for whom he played until summer 2008. In 2006 he rose to the Second Bundesliga with TuS. After half a year and 17 games, Gurski lost his regular place to Dennis Eilhoff . On July 1, 2008 he moved to third division club SV Sandhausen free of charge and received a two-year contract there. For the 2010/11 season he went to league rivals SV Wehen Wiesbaden . He returned to Reutlingen in summer 2014. In January 2015, both sides terminated the contract by mutual agreement; From then on, Gurski wanted to concentrate on his profession as a financial advisor.

In February 2015 he signed a contract until the end of the season with the then third division club Arminia Bielefeld . There he did not play a third division game as a substitute goalkeeper, but celebrated promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the summer Gurski left the club again and ended his career as an active.

In October 2017 he was signed by VfB Eichstätt, who plays in the Regionalliga Bayern. After the protracted injury of the Eichstätt goalkeeper Thomas Bauer a personnel bottleneck arose, the club decided to sign another player in this position. VfB was able to convince Gurski to resume his active career. He made his debut in the first game after joining the starting XI.

Career as a coach and trainer

Shortly after the end of his career, he went to SG Sonnenhof Großaspach as a goalkeeping coach and deepened his work and training as a financial coach to pass on experience and knowledge to the players.

Career as a player advisor and finance coach

In 2017 he founded the company FINGES GmbH with his partner. The company's name refers to its concept: "Consultants for their Fin anzielle Ges undheit". They specialize in the 2 most important topics of every person. Since the right decisions in professional sport also have an influence on the balance between the two topics, the FINGES League player agency was added as a focus of the company barely 10 months later. The focus is not only on footballers, but professional athletes in general are supported in matters of career planning and placement.
