Career

society

Stierlin's football roots are mostly in the youth departments of his home club SV Waldhof Mannheim and 1. FC Kaiserslautern . For the Lauterer he came, initially as a defender, in the B and A-Juniors Bundesliga and always ended up with the teams in the middle of the table.

In the summer of 2017, Bundesliga club RB Leipzig signed the then 17-year-old and used him in his U19 , where he became a regular from the start. In the 2017/18 UEFA Youth League , Stierlin played all six games and scored twice, but retired early with the team as third party. He also played both games in the junior club cup until Leipzig was eliminated and scored once. In the 4-1 home win of the professional team against VfL Wolfsburg on the penultimate matchday, the midfielder sat on the bench for the first time in professional football. In January 2018, Stierlin had already received a professional contract valid until June 2020.

In the following season 2018/19 Leipzig's A-youth reached the final of the cup under coach Alexander Blessin with Stierlin, who had meanwhile been appointed team captain , but lost 2-1 to the U19 of VfB Stuttgart . In qualifying for the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League , which RB successfully completed, the midfielder was twice on the field for the professionals against BK Häcken , and in the second leg even in the starting line-up.

In the absence of prospects in Leipzig's first team, Stierlin moved to SpVgg Unterhaching after successfully completing trial training units for the 2019/20 third division season , where he received a three-year contract.

National team

So far, Stierlin has played six games for junior national teams of the DFB .
