Michael Lovato (born October 14, 1973 in Wilmington ) is a former duathlete and triathlete from the United States. He is included in the best list of American triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

Michael Lovato grew up in Albuquerque . He has been married to triathlete Amanda Lovato (* 1972) since 2004 .

In November 2011, he won his third victory over the Ironman long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) in Mexico after his two successes in 2003 and 2006.

He has not appeared internationally since 2012. He works as a coach and looks after Chris Leiferman , among others .
