Michaela Eleonore Neuling (born September 24, 1984 ) is a German inline speed skater .

Career

Her greatest success so far is the gold medal in the marathon race at the 2005 European Championships in Germany.

The five-time German champion only started inline skating in 1997 , which is quite late in an international comparison, the professionals usually start at an early age (3–5 years). Like her sister Franziska Neuling (born May 8, 1987 ), the Thuringian trains at the speed skating club Blau-Weiß Gera under the direction of national trainer and former roller skater Katharina Berg . Her breakthrough to the national top came in 2001 when she started for Team Rollerblade Germany . The participation in the European Championships of the active 2001 the junior was however forbidden by the European association (CERS).

She has been riding for the Rollerblade World team since 2004, making her the first German female skater to ride for a corporate world team. She is the youngest driver in the team and should gain experience for the future. As a World Cup debutante, she reached 15th place overall, despite many helper services. The following year, the Rollerblade World team won the women's team championship and Michaela Neuling finished fifth overall. The 2006 season was mainly characterized by illnesses and injuries. In 2007 she rode for the Sportvital Rollerblade World Team .

Michaela Neuling holds the German records over 5000 and 10,000 meters on the large track (one lap over 200 m long), as well as over 500 m, 5000 and 10,000 meters on the small track (up to 200 m).

After graduating from high school in 2003, she studied sports and media science at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena .
