At Bayern, the defender completed his most successful season to date in Germany in the 1991/92 season: Heidt was named the best defender in both regular time and play-offs and was also appointed to the Bundesliga All-Star Team 1991/92 . After this season, the Canadian with German citizenship signed a contract with league rivals Mannheimer ERC, for whose outsourced professional team he was on the ice even after the new DEL was founded in 1994 .
