Mimoň IV (German Niemes - IV. District ) is a district of the city of Mimoň in the Czech Republic . It is located north of the center of Mimoň and belongs to the Okres Česká Lípa .
geography
Mimoň IV is located on the right side of the Ploučnice in the Ralská pahorkatina ( Rollberg hill country ). It extends north of the castle bridge and is traversed by the Panenský potok . Road II / 270 runs through the district between Mimoň and Stráž pod Ralskem . To the north rises the Strážný ( Wachberg , 362 m), northeast of the Ralsko ( Rollberg , 696 m), in the southwest of the Liščí vrch ( Fuchsberg , 321 m) and northwest of the Ptačí vršek ( Vogelberg , 337 m) and the Kamenický kopec ( Kamnitzberg) , 436 m).
Neighboring towns are Pertoltice pod Ralskem in the north, Srní Potok in the northeast, Mimoň III in the east and south, Mimoň V in the southwest, Bohatice in the west and Zákupy and Kamenice in the northwest.
history
At the end of the 19th century the city of Niemes was divided into districts, one of which was the fourth district. In 1939 the city acquired the hospital and set up a city museum in it.
In the fields on Hrnčířský vrch ( Töpferberg ), the Letná housing estate with district heating and sales was built after 1952 for the officers of the Mimoň branch of the Hradčany military airfield . In 1960, an eight-grade elementary school was opened in Letná. In the following period, further apartments were built in Letná for civilian employees of the military forest enterprise and the military as well as the local Mitop company. After the occupation of the Ralsko military training area by the Red Army , a ten-class elementary school for the Soviet officers' children was established in Letná in 1972. From 1980 to 1985 Vitali Klitschko also attended the Gagarin School, his younger brother Wladimir started school there. After the withdrawal of the Soviets, the Gagarin school in Letná became the Mimoň high school in 1990.
In 1991 Mimoň II had 1058 inhabitants. In 2001 Mimoň II consisted of 212 houses in which 1403 people lived. The district consists of 240 houses in total.
Local division
The district Mimoň II is part of the cadastral district Mimoň. It includes the basic settlement units Bohatická strana and Letná and the northern part of Mimoň-střed with the bus station and the Kozinovo náměstí.
The streets of Baarova, Barvířská, Českolipská, Hraničářská, Kozinovo náměstí, Letná, Lužická, Pánská, Pertoltická, V Lukách, Vranovská and Žitavská are in the district.
Attractions
- Kalvárie ( Calvary Hill )
- Hospital, built in 1679 by Johann Franz Edmund Putz von Adlerthurn, today it serves as the city museum.
- Boží hrob ( Holy Grave ), built 1665–1667 by Giulio Broggio for Johann Franz Edmund Putz von Adlerthurn. His father Johann Putz von Adlerthurn intended in 1623 after returning from a trip to Jerusalem to build a replica of the Holy Sepulcher in Niemes . After the turmoil of the Thirty Years War, the project was to be implemented. In 1655 he chose the Am Sand ( Na pískách ) square next to the ruins of the Kreuzkirche as the location . Before work began, Johann Putz von Adlerthurn died in 1660.
