Mirowo (Rymań)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mirowo (German Freienfelde ) is a residential area in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland . It belongs to the Gmina Rymań (rural municipality Roman) .

Geographical location

The residential area is in Western Pomerania , about 90 kilometers northeast of Stettin and about two kilometers southeast of the village of Leszczyn (Lestin) .

history

The living space was founded after 1860 as a preliminary work of the manor in Lestin . In 1864, he appeared under the name Vorwerk I . This name differentiated the Vorwerk from the older Lestin sheep farm, which was then called Vorwerk II (later named Ewaldshof ). In 1871 the residential area appeared under its new name Freienfelde . The name was based on the wide, open spaces in the area.

When the previous Lestin manor was parceled out between 1903 and 1907, the Prussian forestry treasury acquired the Freienfelde suburb with the land belonging to it. The land was reforested and a forest ranger was established in Freienfelde.

Until 1945, Forsthaus Freienfelde belonged to the municipality of Lestin and with this to the district of Kolberg-Körlin in the province of Pomerania .

After the Second World War , the Soviet power laid a military airfield south of Freienfelde. Like all of Western Pomerania, Freienfelde came to Poland. It received the Polish place name Mirowo .
