The Mohn'sche Park is a nature reserve designated by the Tübingen regional council on April 30, 1994 by ordinance in the area of ​​the city of Laupheim in the Biberach district .

location

The Mohn'sche Park is located on the southern outskirts of the Laupheim district of Obersulmetingen, about 4 km southwest of Laupheim in the Aue der Riss . The area belongs to the Danube-Iller-Lech-Platte natural area .

Protection purpose

According to the ordinance, the protection purpose is "the preservation of an essential habitat and retreat for the rook colony resident there", "the preservation of natural oxbow lakes, natural alluvial forest and bushes as well as floodplain areas with great biodiversity", "prevention of re-use or recreational use" and " ensuring sensible care ”.

Landscape character

The area is a former park with old, synanthropic trees in the floodplain of the Riss . The rift is crossed by an oxbow lake. The crack itself is straightened out.

Flora and fauna

The notable species in the area include the chess flower , snowdrop , grape hyacinth and keeled leek .

There is a large colony of rooks in the area. The reversible neck also breeds here.
