Monster Tour was the title of the tour of the hard rock group Kiss, which began in 2012 .

background

On October 5, 2012, Kiss released their 20th studio album titled Monster . To promote this, they went on a world tour.

Concert cancellations

The band rescheduled the concert in Calgary on July 13, 2013 to November 8, 2013 due to flooding in the city. The Hell and Heaven Metal Festival 2014, which Kiss was supposed to play at, was canceled for security reasons.

South America tour

On May 7th, 2012 the Monster Tour started at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires . Tommy Thayer had his 52nd birthday that day. The concert was broadcast on the internet. At the band's very first concert in Paraguay , she headlined the Asunción Rock Festival 2012. The South America tour ended at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro , which was broadcast live on the Internet.

Australia tour

The Australian tour began on February 28, 2013 in Perth , Australia . Co-headlining acted as on The Tour , Motley Crue . The opening acts were Thin Lizzy and Diva Demolition . On the Australian tour, Kiss used a different setlist than in South America. On March 3, 2013, at the concert in Adelaide , part of the stage caught fire. Paul Stanley therefore voted on Light My Fire from the Doors . On March 7, 2013, Kiss played two songs on the NRL Footy Show (Rock and Roll all Nite and Hell or Hallelujah). Mötley Crüe cut the concert on March 10, 2013 by 4 songs because Vince Neil was hospitalized with suspected kidney stones . At the last concert of the Australian tour on March 16, 2013 in Mackay , Australia, Paul Stanley dedicated the song Shandi to the murdered Shandee Blackburn .

European tour

There was a new stage for the European tour. A huge metal structure that looked like a spider floated above the stage. Their legs were headlights. Before the show started, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer pissed off. The same drove up to the hall ceiling. After the curtain fell, the spider came down again. Gene Simmons flew to the spider after his bass solo and sang the song 'God of Thunder' there. The European tour began on June 1, 2013 in the Stockholm Friends Arena in Sweden . There was also a new setlist for this part of the tour. But in contrast to the setlist on the Australian tour, the setlist for Europe remained largely constant. On June 6, 2013 the band performed at the Sweden Rock Festival . The "spider" didn't work at the concerts in Copenhagen and Berlin . It only partially worked at other concerts on the Monster Tour. The band played on June 15, 2013 at the Nova Rock Festival in Nickelsdorf . A local crew member was killed when the stage was dismantled in Milan , Italy . The concert on June 20, 2013 in Zurich , Switzerland was broadcast live on American television. The European tour ended on June 22, 2013 in Clisson , France at Hellfest .

North America tour

The show for the North American tour had the same elements as the show for Europe. 13 days after the last concert in Europe, the North American tour began on July 5, 2013 in Victoria , Canada . On July 20, 2013, the band performed at the Cadott Rock Festival. Before the concert on August 10, 2013, drummer Eric Singer broke his toe . He played the concert anyway. Kiss performed at the Arena Bowl XXVI on August 16, 2013. The North American tour ended on August 18, 2013 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida . Another concert that can be assigned to this tour section is the concert on September 9, 2013 in Brooklyn , which was advertising for John Varvatos .

Japan tour

The last section of the tour started on October 19, 2013 in Chiba , Japan . Kiss completed a television appearance on Music Station on TV Asahi the day before , which consisted of one song ( I Was Made for Lovin 'You ). Kiss played two sold-out concerts at Budōkan , the latter of which was broadcast live on television on October 24, 2013. This was the last concert of the Japan tour.

Other concerts

Four days after the last concert in Japan, on October 28, 2013, Kiss began the Kiss Kruise III in Miami . On the ship, the Norwegian Pearl , Kiss played an unplugged concert and two concerts with electric guitars , on which mainly rarities were played. On November 8, 2013, the concert in Calgary was rescheduled. In December, Kiss played two benefit concerts (each consisting of five songs) without make-up . On January 25, the band played four songs as part of the NHL Outdoors Stadium Series . Kiss played a short (six songs) benefit concert on February 14th hosted by Mending Kids . As part of the founding of the LA Kiss arena football team , the band gave an unplugged concert on April 3rd. In addition, the band made a television appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show as part of their entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame . On May 21, 2014, Kiss played a medley of 'Love Gun' and 'Shout It Out Loud' with winner Caleb Johnson at the American Idol finals .
