Moriz Simonyi de Simony et Vársány (born December 10, 1816 in Vienna ; † September 30, 1882 ibid) was a kk field marshal lieutenant .

Moriz Simonyi born and baptized as Maurentius Laurentius Ignatius came from an old Hungarian noble family , he was the son of the Imperial and Royal captain and institute officer of the Invalidenhaus in Vienna Johann (Janós) Evangelist Simonyi de Simony et Vársány († 1865 Vienna) and Franziska Edle von Rathgeb born. His two sisters, including Maria Simonyi de Simony et Vársány (married Joseph Edler von Eybler, son of the Austrian composer Joseph von Eybler ) were also born and baptized in Vienna in 1818 and 1821. Simonyi's mother, Franziska von Simony, née Edle von Rathgeb, was the daughter of the kk Kreisforstbeamter, kk Hofkammeroffiziant Anton Edler von Rathgeb (* 1752 Vienna) and Theresia Baumgartner (* 1762 Vienna). Franziska is the sister-in-law of Anna Edle von Rathgeb, née Countess von Tauffkirchen , daughter of the Imperial Chamberlain Maximilian Graf von Taufkirchen and Maria Anna, nee. Baroness von Risenfels zu Seissenegg.

Simonyi de Simony et Vársány married on April 24, 1861 in Vienna with the Scots, Anna, daughter of the tax inspector Moritz Stieber and Johanna Broudre. Moritz Stieber is a brother of Karl Stieber von Stürzenfeld (1790–1873). Anna von Simony-Varsany born Stieber was a cousin of Franz Max Broudre in Saaz ; she died in Salzburg in 1904 . A daughter named Marianne was born to Simonyi's couple.

Career

He received his military training in the Wiener Neustädter Military Academy , from which he was retired on October 2, 1836, to Bakonyi Infantry No. 33. In January 1837 he became a lieutenant in the Hungarian bodyguard, on May 1, 1841, he advanced to lieutenant at Toscana-Dragoons No. 4, and from May 1, 1844 to the end of December 1847, he served as a division adjutant in the " Fürst von Auersperg " regiment. No. 24 in use. Promoted to second Rittmeister on May 25, 1848 , Simonyi was adjutant to Field Marshal Lieutenant Freiherr Stürmer , while he was busy setting up a reserve corps on the Isonzo , as well as later when he commanded the 2nd Army Reserve Corps at Treviso . He took part in the campaigns in Italy in 1848 and 1849 in this capacity and later with Toscana-Dragoons No. 4, became first Rittmeister on August 1, 1849, joined Kaiser-Hussar No. 1 on April 16, 1850 and moved there on September 9, 1849 September 1853 for major . In this capacity, he took part in the 1866 campaign against Prussia in the Edelsheim light cavalry division and was later entrusted with the management of a patrol command in Bohemia and Moravia , which he successfully completed and for this on October 3, 1866 with the Iron Crown Order 3rd class was awarded. On February 4, 1867 he became major general and commander of the 3rd brigade in the 17th Troop Division in Temesvár and was finally on September 15, 1869 and house commander of the Royal Hungarian Life Guard in Vienna. 

Moriz Simonyi de Simony et Varsany was made an honorary citizen of Saaz in 1864.

In blue, behind a plow, a leafy, fertilized, staked vine, rising from the green ground, on which two starlings, sitting facing each other. The actual, original coat of arms of the Simonyi de Varsány is said to have looked different. They belong to the prehistoric nobility of Bars County , whose first ancestor, Comes Simon de Wossian , mentioned in a document in 1260, appears. His descendant Felician received the jus gladii in 1441 . His son Benedict wrote himself "Simonyi Aliter de Vassány". In 1560 Johann Simonyi was vice- chancellor of Bars County.
