The Mount Morris Township is located in northern Illinois around 160 km west of Chicago . The Wisconsin border is approximately 60 km north; the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is about 60 km to the west.

The Mount Morris Township is located in the northwestern center of Ogle County and borders in the northwest on the Maryland Township , in the northeast on the Leaf River Township , in the east on the Rockvale Township , in the southeast on the Oregon-Nashua Township , in the south on Pine Creek Township , to the southwest to Buffalo Township and to the west to Lincoln Township .
