The Rockvale Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

The Rockvale Township is located in northern Illinois on both sides of the Rock River around 150 km west of Chicago . The Wisconsin border is around 55 km north; the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is about 85 km to the west.
The Rockvale Township is 42 ° 04'16 "north latitude and 89 ° 20'15" west longitude and extends over 93 km², which is spread over 93 km² of land and 3 km² of water.
The Rockvale Township is located in the center of Ogle County and borders the Leaf River Township in the northwest , the Byron Township in the northeast, the Marion Township in the east, the Pine Rock Township in the southeast, the Oregon-Nashua Township in the south , to the southwest to Pine Creek Township and to the west to Mount Morris Township .

Illinois State Route 2 , which runs along the right bank of the Rock River, runs through Rockvale Township . All other roads are county highways as well as subordinate and partly unpaved roads.
The Ogle County Airport is located on the southwestern edge of the township; the nearest major airport is Chicago Rockford International Airport, around 30 km northeast, on the southern outskirts of Rockford .
