The Dement Township is one of 24 townships in Ogle County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois .

The Dement Township is located in northern Illinois about 115 km west of Chicago . The Wisconsin border is 40 miles north; the Mississippi , which forms the border with Iowa , is about 110 km to the west.
The Dement Township is located at 41 ° 55'56 "north latitude and 88 ° 59'49" west longitude and extends over 90.4 km².
The Dement Township is located in the extreme southeast of Ogle County and is bordered to the south by Lee County and to the east by DeKalb County , which is already part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Within Ogle County, Dement Township is bordered by Flagg Township to the west, White Rock Township to the northwest and Lynnville Township to the north .

In the south of the township intersect Interstates 88 and 39 , which runs on the same route as US Highway 51 here.
A few kilometers north of it crosses Illinois State Route 38, which runs in a west-east direction . All other roads are county highways as well as subordinate and partly unpaved roads.
In an east-west direction runs through the Dement Township a railway line of the Union Pacific Railroad , which leads from Chicago to the west. A line of the BNSF Railway runs through the southwest of the township from the Rochelle railway junction .
The nearest airport is Rochelle Municipal Airport , around 3 km west of the township ; the nearest major airport is Chicago Rockford International Airport, around 40 km north on the southern outskirts of Rockford .
