Muan ( Muan-gun ) is a district in Jeollanam-do Province in South Korea . In the southwest is the city of Mokpo , in the west is the Yellow Sea with numerous islands belonging to Sinan County , in the north is the county of Hampyeong , in the east is Naju and in the south is the county of Yeongam .
In 2005, the provincial seat of government was moved from Gwangju, which is independent of the province, to Namak . An international airport is under construction and will replace the airports in Gwangju and Mokpo.
