The Mulder cycle path in Germany leads in the valley of the Mulde and its two source rivers, the Zwickau and the Freiberger Mulde , from Muldenberg or Holzhau via Sermuth to Dessau . He touches the states of Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt .

Until 2009, this long-distance tourist cycle path had the long name Muldentalradwanderweg and was then renamed on the recommendation of the ADFC Saxony .

Landscape and culture

Viewed in terms of landscape, it touches the Ore Mountains , runs between the Halle-Leipzig lowland bay and the Dübener Heide through the Saxon hill country to the Middle Elbe biosphere reserve .

The cycle path joins towards the north and can therefore be divided into three sub- routes:

  1. Zwickauer Mulde : Schöneck - Muldenberg - Eibenstock - Aue - Zwickau - Crossen (Zwickau) - Glauchau - Penig - Rochlitz - Sermuth
  2. Freiberger Mulde : Holzhau - Freiberg - Nossen - Döbeln - Leisnig - Sermuth
  3. United Mulde : Sermuth - Grimma - Wurzen - Eilenburg - Bad Düben - Bitterfeld - Dessau
