The Municipio Quime is a district in the La Paz department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Quime is one of six Municipios of the Inquisivi province and is located in the northwestern part of the province. It is bordered by the Province of Loayza to the west, the Municipio Ichoca to the south, the Municipio Inquisivi to the southeast , the Municipio Licoma Pampa to the east, the Municipio Cajuata to the northeast , and the Province of Sud Yungas to the north .

The municipality has 4 cantons with 47 localities (localidades) , the administrative seat of the municipality is Quime with 3,131 inhabitants in the southeastern part of the municipality, larger localities are Mina La Argentina with 916 inhabitants and Choquetanga with 747 inhabitants. geography

The municipality of Quime is located at a mean altitude of 2800  m on the eastern slopes of the Quimsa Cruz Cordillera , between the Bolivian Altiplano in the west and the Amazon lowlands in the east. The region has a distinct time-of-day climate in which the daily temperature fluctuations are greater than the seasonal fluctuations.

The mean average temperature of the region is 10.5 ° C (see climate diagram Quime), the monthly average temperatures fluctuate between 7 ° C in June / July and just under 13 ° C in November / December. The annual precipitation is almost 600 mm, from May to August there is a dry season with monthly precipitation below 15 mm, in the months of January and February there is a long-term average between 120 and 130 mm of rain.
