Zapotiltic is a municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco in the Región Sur . The municipality had 27,901 inhabitants at the 2010 census; the area of ​​the municipality is 480.5 km².

The largest place in the municipality and administrative seat is the Zacoalco de Torres of the same name . Other places with at least 1000 inhabitants are General Andrés Figueroa , San Marcos and Barranca de Otates . The municipality comprises a total of 34 localities.

The Municipio Zacoalco de Torres borders the Municipios Villa Corona , Acatlán de Juárez , Jocotepec , Teocuitatlán de Corona , Atoyac , Techaluta de Montenegro and Atemejac de Brizuela .

The municipal area is mostly on one level at an average of about 1500  m above sea level. About 40% of the community area is forested or agricultural area. The municipality also includes the Laguna Zacoalco and the Laguna San Marcos .
