Unión de Tula is a municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco in the Sierra de Amula region . The municipality had 13,737 inhabitants at the 2010 census; the area of the municipality is 444.3 km².
The largest place in the municipality and administrative seat is the Unión de Tula of the same name , another place with over 1,000 inhabitants is San Clemente . The municipality comprises a total of 48 localities.
The Municipio Unión de Tula borders the Municipios Ayutla , Tenamaxtlán , Ejutla , El Grullo and Autlán de Navarro .
The municipality is located at about 1350 m to 1900 m above sea level. About 38% of the community area is forested, a good third is used for agriculture.
