Zapotitlán de Vadillo is a municipality in the Mexican state of Jalisco in the Región Sur . The municipality had 6,685 inhabitants at the 2010 census; the area of ​​the municipality is 306.7 km².

The largest place in the municipality and administrative seat is the eponymous Zapotitlán de Vadillo . A second place with at least 500 inhabitants exists with San José del Carmen . The municipality comprises a total of 37 localities.

The municipality Zapotitlán de Vadillo borders on the municipalities Tuxpan , San Gabriel , Tolimán and Tonila as well as the municipality Comala in the state of Colima .

The municipal area is on average around 1500  m above sea level, between 300  m and peaks with up to 3600  m . Around 60% of the municipality's area is forested, a good third is used for agriculture.
