Mysterious Mermaids , in the English-language original Siren (Eng .: Siren ), is an American television series that has been broadcast on Freeform since March 29, 2018 .
In German-speaking countries, the first season was broadcast by ProSieben from February 27, 2019 .
In August 2020, the series was discontinued after three seasons.
action
The series is set in the coastal town of Bristol Cove, a town that advertises the fabled beautiful mermaids, but whose inhabitants are destroying the balance between nature and humans through pollution and overfishing, which means that the mermaids have to get closer to the coast to find food. During a hunt, the sister of the mermaid Ryn is caught in the net of a fishing boat. Ryn then decides to follow her ashore and bring her back into the sea. She meets the marine biologist Ben and his friend Maddie, who quickly find out who her new friend is and what she can do, because contrary to the general view of mermaids, they are anything but cute, but rather a predatory species. In their search for Ryn's sister, they meet allies as well as enemies, including the US military. A race against time begins and a battle arises between humans and marine life over the use of the sea.

The German-language dubbed version is produced on behalf of ProSiebenSat.1 Media by the dubbing company Interopa Film in Berlin . The version is based on the dialogue books and the dialogue direction by Heike Kospach.
