Nélson Miguel Castro Oliveira (born August 8, 1991 in Barcelos ) is a Portuguese football player .

Career

In the club

Oliveira played for Sporting Braga and Benfica Lisbon in his youth . In January 2010 he was loaned to Rio Ave FC , whereupon he made his debut in the Primeira Liga . In the 2010/11 season he played on loan for FC Paços de Ferreira . For the 2011/12 season he returned to Benfica. His official debut at Benfica Lisbon took place on October 14, 2011 in a 2-0 victory in the cup against Portimonense SC . Although he remained goalless in twelve league games in the 2011/12 season, Oliveira was able to attract international attention when he scored the decisive goal for the 4-3 aggregate result on March 6, 2012 in the second leg of the Champions League second leg against Zenit Saint Petersburg after being substituted on lap.

For the 2012/13 season Oliveira moved on loan to the Spanish first division promoted Deportivo La Coruña , for whom he subsequently played 30 league games and scored four goals. At the end of the season, however, Deportivo rose again from the Segunda División . For the 2013/14 season Oliveira was loaned to the French first division club Stade Rennes .

On January 1, 2015 Oliveira moved to Swansea City in the Premier League until the end of the season . In the 2015/16 season he played in another loan deal for the English second division club Nottingham Forest .

Oliveira went through the youth national teams of his country. In 2010 he took part in the U-19 European Championship . At the U-20 World Cup in 2011 he scored four tournament goals and finished second with his team.

29 February 2012 Oliveira made his debut in the senior team as part of a goalless draw with Poland . He was part of the Portuguese squad at the 2012 European Championship , played four times as a substitute during the tournament and reached the semi-finals with his team.
