Nöbden is a district of Schmölln in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia . It belonged to the Altkirchen community until December 31, 2018 . Today the place is uninhabited and only consists of six stables.

location

The hamlet is located in the Altenburg-Zeitz loess hill country on fertile soil. It lies between Altkirchen in the west and Röthenitz in the east in the valley of the Blue Flood .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned as Nebedim on September 24, 1140 . In 1445 a parish and an anspanngut were mentioned. Nöbden belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century due to several divisions in the course of its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxony-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg.

Nöbden belonged to Röthenitz as early as the 19th century . After the administrative reform in the duchy, the hamlet belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Ronneburg district office (from 1900). From 1918 the village belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 it came to the district of Altenburg .

During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus Nöbden came as part of the municipality of Röthenitz with the district of Schmölln to the district of Leipzig ; that had belonged to Thuringia since 1990 as the district of Schmölln and became part of the district of Altenburger Land during the Thuringian district reform in 1994 . With the incorporation of the Röthenitz community into the Altkirchen community, Nöbden became a district of Altkirchen on August 5, 1961. In 1973 there were still two courtyards, but the place is now uninhabited. With the incorporation of the Altkirchen community into the town of Schmölln, the hamlet has been part of the town of Schmölln since January 1, 2019.
