NGC 1759 is a cD galaxy of the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Gravestones in the southern sky . It is an estimated 719 million light years from the Milky Way and about 260,000 light years in diameter. Possibly it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy pair together with PGC 16545 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on November 28, 1837 .
