NGC 1762 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Orion the northern sky . It is estimated to be 209 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 8, 1785 .
