NGC 1738 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB (s) bc in the constellation Rabbit at the celestial equator , which is an estimated 169 million light years from the Milky Way . Together with NGC 1739 , it forms an interactive pair.
The object was discovered on December 11, 1885 by the astronomer Ormond Stone .
