NGC 6733 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 215 million light years from the Milky Way and about 120,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 6739 , IC 4809 , IC 4815 are in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on August 8, 1834 .
