NGC 6758 is an elliptical galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type E3 in the constellation Peacock in the southern sky . It is an estimated 149 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 105,000 light years across .

The object was discovered by John Herschel on June 9, 1836 .
