NGC 6745 is an irregular galaxy in the constellation Lyra which is 213 million light years from the Milky Way . NGC 6745 has collided with a smaller galaxy (PGC 200361/200362) in the past, giving it the appearance of a bird's head.
NGC 6745 was discovered on July 24, 1879 by the French astronomer Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan .
