NGC 7051 is a spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type Sa in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 118 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 50,000 light years in diameter.
The type II supernova SN 2002dq was observed here.
The object was discovered on July 30, 1827 by John Herschel .
