NGC 7098 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Octant in the southern sky . It is estimated to be 101 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light-years across.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on September 22nd, 1835 .
