The 2000/01 season was the third season of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), the top Canadian division in women's ice hockey at the time. The Beatrice Eros defeated the Sainte-Julie Panthères in the championship final and thus secured their second championship title of the NWHL.

Attendees

The league started with nine participants: the Beatrice Eros , Brampton Thunder , Mississauga Ice Bears , Clearnet Lightning and the Toronto Sting continued to play in the Western Division . In the Eastern Division played the Laval Le Mistral , Ottawa Raiders , Montréal Wingstar and the Sainte-Julie Panthères . In addition, there was a series of friendly matches with the Vancouver Griffins , founded in January 2000 , which were to be included in the league for the 2001/02 season .
