The Nameless (also Namenlosbach and Lamelofe called falsely occasionally nameless brook ) is a 8.4 km long, south-east and orographic right tributary of the Negro in the Hochsauerlandkreis in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

course

The nameless rises and runs in the Sauerland region in the Rothaar Mountains and in the Sauerland-Rothaar Mountains Nature Park . Its source is on the Winterberg plateau near the northern edge of the core town of Winterberg at about 649  m above sea level. NHN .

The nameless initially flows westwards to the confluence of the Büre coming from the south . It then runs north-west and north west through the south-west of Nordhelle ( 792.2  m ) lying Silbach , a north-western district of winter mountain where they Lamelofe called by and coming from the Nordhelle Strülleken is fed. Then the stream flows north and, after confluence with the Burmecke coming from the east and after passing the Meisterstein ( 636.4  m ) in the west and the Iberg ( 703.7  m ) in the east, it reaches Siedlinghausen, another north-western district of Winterberg.

Finally opens the Nameless m west-northwest and slightly below the village church from the southeast at about coming in Siedlinghausen around 110 444  m flowing high in the approach there from the south Ruhr influx Negro .

Protected areas and nature

The source and the upper reaches of the nameless are in the nature reserve (NSG) nameless valley system (CDDA no. 389837; designated 2008; 89  hectares in size). A small part of the NSG is also designated as a fauna-flora-habitat area Bergwiesen near Winterberg (FFH no. 4717-305; 4.87 km²). In the NSG there are also Büre , Festerbach and Rabenseifen or at least sections of these small nameless inflows. Shortly before the place Silbach the Nameless flows in protected landscape winter mountain , of type A (General landscapes). Then the stream runs in the village of Silbach. The next part of the stream is in the nature reserve valley system of the negroes , type C (meadow valleys, significant extensive grassland). This is followed by another section of the stream in the Winterberg nature reserve before the confluence with the Neger in Siedlinghausen .

Many rare plants and animals on the Red List occur in the NSG and FFH areas . In it there is extensive Wet meadow , the locally by binsen- and sedges are interspersed rich source marshes. The nameless and their tributaries are completely unobstructed in the NSG. The spruce population there was reduced to a single spruce plot in the winter of 2008/09 . In the meantime, the North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation has bought more than 40 hectares in the NSG at the request of the Association for Nature and Bird Conservation in the Hochsauerlandkreis . The areas of this foundation are extensively grazed with cattle according to the specifications of the culture-landscape-care program of the Hochsauerlandkreis.

fauna

A special feature of the valley, which is bordered by wooded mountain slopes, is the occurrence of the whinchat (Saxicola rubetra) and the meadow pipit . In addition, the dipper can be found by the stream . The black stork , which breeds in the forests to the south, is a frequent source of food by the stream. The snipe , which occurred as a breeding bird until the beginning of the 1990s, has become extinct as a breeding bird in the Nameless Valley System nature reserve and in the entire Hochsauerland district. On the other hand, it can be observed on the migration in autumn and spring. Individual snipes also rest for a long time in the NSG. Even with high snow conditions, individual birds were found in snow-free spring areas.

Hydrology

As a tributary of the Negro, the Nameless, whose catchment area is 15.376 km², belongs to the river system of the Ruhr and thus to the catchment area of the Rhine . In 1999 the nameless in the upper course was in water quality class I-II, from Silbach to the mouth in quality class II. The mean flow rate at the mouth is 0.38 m³ / s.
