National Council constituency Obwalden
The National Council constituency of Obwalden is a constituency for elections to the Swiss National Council . It covers the entire canton of Obwalden and has existed since 1848.

Until 1869, the national councils were elected to the Landsgemeinde . Major elections have been used since then .
Name and number of seats
During the Majorz era, in official use, consecutive numbering was used throughout Switzerland, arranged according to the order of the cantons in the Swiss Federal Constitution . The constituency of Obwalden was number 16 from 1851, number 17 from 1872 and number 18 from 1911; the numbering has not been used since 1919.
Due to the population development, the constituency Obwalden always had 1 seat available.
