Brauke nature reserve (Kierspe)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brauke nature reserve is a 7.03 hectare nature reserve (NSG) southeast of the village of Höhlen in the municipality of Kierspe in the Märkisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 by the district council of the Märkischer Kreis with the landscape plan No. 7 Kierspe . The NSG is located directly on the city limits of Meinerzhagen and the local nature reserve of the same name .

Area description

The NSG is a source area and grassland. Wet and damp grassland shaped that grassland. There are near-natural streams with their accompanying woodland in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve was designated for the preservation and development of a spring area and grassland and as a habitat for endangered animal and plant species. As with other nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation indicated that the area became a nature reserve “because of its scenic beauty and uniqueness”.
