Magister Negi Magi ( Japanese 魔法 先生 ネ ギ ま !, Mahō Sensei Negima! ) Is a completed manga series by the Japanese illustrator Ken Akamatsu . The series was in several anime - OVAs , TV series implemented and a movie. Under the title Magister Negi Magi Negima !? a reinterpretation appeared as an anime and manga.

It tells the story of the magician Negi, who has to teach English at a Japanese girls' school and is looking for his missing father. The work can be classified into the genres of action , comedy , romance , drama and ecchi .

action

The 9-year-old ( traditional counting method : 10 years) Negi Springfield, a magician from Wales , is sent to Japan to complete his training at the Magician Academy with a special assignment: He is to teach English at a girls' school. Only after successfully completing this task can he become a Magister Magi (master of magic) like his father. This is considered the most famous magician in the world and has been lost for ten years. Negi's greatest drive is the search for his father. When he arrived in Japan, he had to deal with 31 girls between the ages of 13 and 15, who thought he was cute but showed little respect at least at the beginning. In addition, he has to keep his magic a secret, because otherwise he faces a severe punishment from the magician: the (at least temporarily) transformation into an ermine. Despite all his efforts, more and more girls are discovering his secret; however, he finds in them allies in the fight against enemies who appear in the course of history and make life difficult for him.

In the course of the story, Negi enters into so-called partnerships (pactio) with several girls, which enable the girls to fight with magical objects (artefacts) at his side. Since the pactio is sealed in this case by a magic circle and a kiss, misunderstandings occur again and again. The class also has a vampire named Evangelin, a robot, a ninja named Kaede, a Han'yō and a time traveler from Mars; lots of unusual students.

The plot can be roughly divided into sections:

Arrival at the girls' school (Chapters 1–15, Volumes 1 + 2)

Negi arrives at school and gets to know his students. Some of the students are specially introduced; the main focus is on developing camaraderie between Negi and Asuna. The shy Nodoka falls in love with Negi.

Evangeline (Chapters 16-25, Volume 3)

One of his students turns out to be a vampire and dangerous magician who goes after his blood in order to free herself from a curse. Camo appears and becomes Negi's advisor, the Pactio system is mentioned for the first time, and Asuna becomes Negi's first partner.

The Kyoto School Trip (Chapters 26–53, Volumes 4–6)

On a school trip that Negi is supposed to use for a diplomatic mission, he comes up against a stronger enemy. In addition to Negi, the focus is on his students Konoka and Setsuna, who know each other from earlier times in Kyoto. Nodoka becomes more courageous and confesses her love to Negi (even if he doesn't know what to do with it). As the story progresses, Nodoka, Setsuna, and Konoka also become partners with Negi; In addition, Asakura, Yue, Ku-Fei and Kaede take part in his adventures for the first time. Kotaro is introduced, initially as Negi's opponent. Fate Averruncus also makes his first appearance as Negi's opponent.

Training / Graf Wilhelm (Ch. 54–71, Volumes 7–8)

Negi wants to get stronger and wins Ku-Fei and Evangeline as trainers. Kotaro appears and wants to warn him of a dangerous enemy, a demon disguised as a German count. After all, for the first time they fight side by side. In this section, the core team around Negi develops.

The Mahora Festival (Ch. 72–162, Volumes 9–18)

The school festival of the Mahora school contains several storylines, some of which run in parallel.

  • Negi has problems visiting all of his students during their actions. Chao creates an unexpected remedy, and out of the blue gives him a time machine. This enables him to experience the festival several times each day, including the associated problems.
  • A martial arts tournament that has actually declined in importance gains in quality because the new patron - Chao - offers prize money of 10 million yen. Among the last 16 fighters are Negi, Kotaro and six of the students. The tournament takes on bizarre features due to the fighting techniques used.
  • Chao only staged the tournament to advance her plan - to make the existence of magic known to the world. Finally, after a few surprising twists and turns in the story (in which the time machine plays an essential role), the big showdown between her and Negi takes place.

In this section, the Negi team expands to include Haruna and Chisame, who, including Yue, become his partners.

Journey to the Magical World (Chapters 163–334, Volumes 18–36)

  • Travel, separation and reunification (Chapters 163–220, Vol. 18–24)

Negi travels with his partners and other supporters under the name "Ala Alba" (white wing, based on his father's group, Ala Rubra, red wing) into the magical world. During the transition into the magical world, five other students (who have no idea of Negi's magic) are accidentally dragged along. Negi and his team get caught in an attack by Fate Averruncus and his group that destroys the gate to the magical world, and Negi's team (including the 5 girls) is scattered all over the magical world. Negi tries to collect "his" girls again. In a tournament he has to fight for money to buy three of the girls out of slavery. At the same time he uses the tournament (he appears under the name of his father) to get in touch with the others and to collect them for the final in Ostia. Negi trains under the guidance of Rakan, an old friend of his father's. Kazumi becomes Negi's eighth partner. The girls, who are scattered all over the world, get along surprisingly well in their new surroundings. Little by little they gather at the start of the final tournament in Ostia.

  • Ostia Festival (Chapters 221–249, Volumes 24–27)

A festival in honor of the end of the war begins 20 years ago in Ostia. Before the tournament starts, Negi faces Fate for the first time since the attack. Although Negi's team seems to win the exchange, Fate has achieved his goal. Rakan tells the story of Ala Rubra. Kaede becomes Negi's ninth partner. Negi and Kotaro reach the final tournament in which they unexpectedly face Rakan. The epic battle ends in a draw.

  • After the festival (chap. 249–294, volumes 28–32)

Rakan leaves all the prize money to Negi so that he can buy the three girls out. Setsuna becomes a partner of Konoka, who has decided to become a Magistra Magi just like Negi. Negi is attacked by Governor General Kurt Gödel, who was a member of the Ala Rubra for a period and confirms Negi's suspicions that Princess Arika was Negi's mother. Negi can only escape with difficulty. Gödel surprisingly sends Negi and his girls an invitation to the gubernatorial ball. At the beginning of the ball, Ku Fei and Chachamaru Negis become tenth and eleventh partners, and Kotaro, who has also decided to become Magister Magi, makes a pactio with Natsumi. During the ball, the other side, whose identity was previously rather vague, reveals itself and goes on to attack. Ala Alba does well, but there are great losses among the friends she has made in the magical world. Finally reunited, they finally make their way to the ruins of Ostia, where they suspect missing members and a still intact Magical Gate. In preparation for the upcoming heavy fighting, Negi can be persuaded to enter into a pactio with Yuna, Makie and Ako (“The more fighting power, the better”).

  • Final battle in the magical world (chapters 295–334, volumes 33–36)

Negi and his team penetrate the base of the enemy and are involved in various battles. During these fights, more and more questions about Cosmo Entelecheia and Fate are answered. Before Ala Alba can defeat the enemy, the destruction of the magical world begins. Finally, the enemy (who has hidden behind Fate) is repulsed, and with the help of the "Master Key", Asuna, who has since been saved, can restore the magical world.

Again in Mahora (chap. 335–355, volumes 37–38)

  • The plan to save the magical world (chap. 335–353, volumes 37–38)

The magical world has not yet been finally saved, because the real catastrophe (the drying up of magic) is still pending. Negi does everything in his power to realize his big, long-term plan and gets help from Ayaka, the “daughter from a rich family”, and from Fate, who, after being “convinced”, has joined Negi. In the meantime, it turns out that Asuna will probably have to spend the next 100 years without her friends, which leads to intense pain of farewell among the girls. In order to implement Negi's project (the terraforming of Mars), it must be sealed on Mars for this time. After 130 years (delayed due to a rebellion on Mars), she returns to a world where all of her friends have died. With the help of Evangeline and Chao, she returns to the time she left and meets her friends again.

  • Epilogue (chap. 354–355, volume 38)

Seven years later, most of the members of Ala Alba meet with members of Ala Rubra, the group around Negi's father. Nagi Springfield is among them. The future of girls is described in short paragraphs. The manga ends with the girls and Negi planning a class reunion for the old 3-A and getting in touch with various former members.

Characters

Where in the German translation of the manga the names differ from the more well-known English designation (which is also used in the anime), these deviations are added in brackets.

Negi Springfield ( ネ ギ ・ ス プ リ ン グ フ ィ ー ル ド , Negi Supuringufīrudo )
For a nine-year-old ( traditional counting method : ten years) he has an extremely strong personality and a pronounced will. His magical powers are also outstanding, he was the best of his class at the magic school. He is the son of the legendary "Thousand Master", the once most powerful magician in the world, but who has been lost for years. Because of his age, Negi has little to do with the sometimes openly expressed affections of his students, but tries to meet them as an "English gentleman". In the course of the story, always in search of his father, Negi goes through a spiritual maturation process that no child of his age thinks possible. In this way he also trains his magical powers and, as a combat magician, becomes the pupil of several masters such as Ku-Fei and Evangeline. His magical powers quickly take on an enormous level, although he is not yet one of the strongest of the magicians, like his father, Evangeline or Ku: Nel. Later in the magical world, in order to gain even more power, he decides to go a different path than his father - the path of darkness. Through Evangeline and Jack's help, this releases forces in him that he has never been able to use before: the Magia Erebeia, a magical power that gives Negi dark powers of incomparable measure, putting him in a kind of demonic state and from him at the end of the story mastered and freed his spirit from its corruption, becomes the ultimate weapon.
Albert "Camo" Camomille ( ア ル ベ ー ル ・ カ モ ミ ー ル , Arubēru Kamomīru )
He is a magical ermine who can talk. Since Negi saved him from a trap in the mountains of Wales, Camo has owed the little wizard. He makes himself available to Negi as a helper. For example, only with his help is it possible to conclude the pactio (partnership agreement). According to him, there are various possibilities of a pactio; but he can only apply the kiss, which does not make the thing for Negi and the girls easier ... He has a weakness for cigarettes and girls, so he well with Ku: understands Nel and always from Asuna nicknamed Porn Wiesel addressed is .

Some of the students

Asuna Kagurazaka ( 神 楽 坂 明日 菜 , Kagurazaka Asuna , student # 8)
She's easy to get upset, very athletic, but also has a pretty bad memory. Asuna is an orphan, but doesn't want to be a burden to anyone; therefore she regularly delivers newspapers in order to be able to pay the school fees. Since she absolutely cannot stand small children, she is already quite annoyed when she meets Negi for the first time; she is in love with Mr. Takahata , her former class teacher. Over time, Negi and Asuna become good friends and she becomes his first partner ( Ministra Magi ). Your weapon is the Ensis Exorcizan , a demon banishing sword that appears sometimes in the form of a huge, folded fan ( Harisen ), sometimes in the form of a huge sword. She is also immune to magic of any kind. Asuna is very popular in the class. As the twilight princess of the magical world she plays the key role at the end of the story when it comes to completing the ritual with the Great Grandmaster Key, to reawaken the ultimate evil and ultimately to create the "paradise" longed for by Fate and Dynamis and their master. According to Akamatsu, his wife served as a model.
Konoka Konoe ( 近衛 木 乃 香 , Konoe Konoka , student # 13)
Konoka is a very happy girl who shares a room with Negi and Asuna. Through her understanding demeanor and her amiable character, she is always able to act as a mediator between the two. She originally comes from Kyoto, where she grew up in the temple of the Kansai Magician Society, of which her father is the head. She is also the granddaughter of the director of the Mahora School. Konoka possesses great magical powers that she did not know about until now, because they were deliberately withheld from her. She is able to heal the wounded. In an attempt to save Negi's life, she becomes Negi's fourth partner. After seeing her old friend Setsuna Sakurazaki again at school, they spend a lot of time together and the friendship grows.
Setsuna Sakurazaki ( 桜 咲 刹那 , Sakurazaki Setsuna , student # 15)
Setsuna is a swordsman and member of the Shinmeiryuu school (similarities with Motoko by Love Hina cannot be mistaken). She has seen herself as the protector of Konoka since childhood, especially since she was unable to help Konoka in a traumatic situation. In her attempt to settle the alleged debt from back then, she does not notice for a long time that a connection has developed between her and Konoka that goes far beyond the earlier childhood friendship. In addition, Setsuna is a half demon ( Han'yō ) and fears that it will not be accepted. To save Konoka from a difficult situation, Setsuna becomes Negi's third partner. More soon develops from her friendship with Konoka in the manga.
Nodoka Miyazaki ( 宮 崎 の ど か , Miyazaki Nodoka , student # 27)
The shy librarian is actually afraid of men, but little Negi makes her heart beat faster. She likes being surrounded by books and sorting them out. Her best friends are Yue Ayase and Haruna Saotome. Nodoka becomes Negi's second partner. Her artifact allows her to read the minds of others. This ability helps the troops out of a bind in some cases.
Yue Ayase ( 綾 瀬 夕 映 , Ayase Yue , student # 4)
Yue is a terrible slacker and hates to study. That is why her grades, even though she is basically smart, are very bad. Like her friends Nodoka and Haruna, Yue is a real book lover and also a member of the library club. As one of the girls who know of Negi's magical secret, she is very diligent in learning magic. Using the Pactio with Negi, she receives a kind of beginner's set for young magicians, consisting of a broom, a cloak, a witch's hat and a self-updating magician encyclopedia. Yue's philosophical streak makes her a thought leader in Negi's group. She is particularly fond of daring drinks like cola with green tea. When she is stranded with amnesia in the magical world, she becomes a member of the Ariadne Amazon Knight Troop.
Haruna Saotome ( 早 乙 女 ハ ル ナ , Saotome Haruna , student # 14)
Haruna is the third member of the group of librarians. She doesn't mince her words and keeps embarrassing Nodoka and Yue with her remarks about their relationship with Negi. At first she makes no secret of the fact that she only concludes the Pactio with Negi because she is interested in the artifact (in her case a sketchbook whose sketches come to life). Nevertheless, she joins Negi's troop.
Evangeline Athanasia Kitty (Katherine) McDowell ( エ ヴ ァ ン ジ ェ リ ン ・ A ・ K ・ マ ク ダ ウ ェ ル , Evanjerin AK Makudaveru , student # 26)
Eva is the only girl in the class who can have a European background. Allegedly, she should come from a noble family from Great Britain or Ireland. She became a vampire when she was 10, which means that even today, after over 500 years, she still looks like a little girl. In order to be able to live in daylight, she became a Shinso, a vampire who can also exist during the day without any problems. She is also a dreaded magician. She prefers to use dark magic and ice magic, which she knows how to use efficiently against her enemies and which makes her one of the most powerful of all wizards in full possession of her powers and was only defeated by Nagi with a trick. In fact, it is not even certain that she is not even more powerful than himself, as he in turn refused that challenge by his trap and revelation of knowing few spells, as did Fate's seemingly invincible golem during his first appearance with hers enormous ice magic, which froze the environment to absolute zero, easily destroyed and forced the boy, whose powers are already much greater than Negis, to flee with the admission that he could not take on her at the moment. Because of her wickedness, she is also known as the 'Dark Evangel'. Although unusual for a Magister Magi, she has 2 Ministra Magi; Chachazero, a small doll, and Chachamaru, a robot. Before she lost most of her magical powers, she was an excellent puppet master. Eva is one of the few characters that Nagi Springfield, Negi's father, has actually met. After he saved her, she fell in love with him and stayed by his side until he finally managed to shake her off by cursing her with a powerful spell, the Infernus Scholasticus, and tying her to the school grounds of the Mahora school . Since then she has only been able to use her magical powers to a limited extent. Because of her extensive experience in fighting other magicians, she later became Negi's teacher, despite her initial hostility. Even if she rarely shows it and doesn't like to admit it, Evangeline also has a very soft side. She also has a little weakness for Negi. Evangeline likes to play Go and is in the school's Go and Tea Ceremony Club and has her own property, a villa on the school grounds, which is in miniature form in a glass case and which can be entered with magic. Time runs differently on that property than in the real world, which is why it is suitable and used for training by Negi and the others.
Chachamaru (Sasamaru) Karakuri ( 絡 繰 茶 々 丸 , Karakuri Chachamaru , student # 10)
Chachamaru is a robot in the form of a girl. She is bound to Evangeline by a “doll contract” and supports her with the loyalty of a robot. It is mentioned that her energy system is from Evangeline and is magical. It is a modification of her magic "Anima Magically", which she once used to "animate" her dolls. With her help, Evangeline uses science to expand her magic. She is also a good hand-to-hand fighter. Chachamaru embodies the robot in the series, who develops feelings through programming and becomes more and more similar to a person. Her body itself is operated by the opening of the key at the back of her head, which she finds very pleasant, as it triggers a kind of happiness in her if it is not overdone. In the magical world she becomes one of Negi's Pactio partners and "proves" that she too has a soul.
Ayaka Yukihiro ( 雪 広 あ や か , Yukihiro Ayaka , student # 29)
Ayaka is the "girl from a good family". Your family runs a successful corporation and is therefore extremely wealthy. As the class representative ( iinchō ) of the 3-A, she tries to keep the class under control as much as possible; not least to make an impression on Negi. As is well known, it is no secret that Ayaka is really very fond of her class teacher. On the one hand, she sees him as a little brother, on the other hand, it also regularly becomes clear that he means more to her. It is not for nothing that she is often referred to as a pedophile. Ayaka is very smart (fourth best of her year [2002]) and has an attractive appearance to many people, with which she can often score. She loves flowers and hates disorder and restlessness, although it is not uncommon for them to be the cause of them. Her constant quarrels with Asuna, her eternal rival, often lead to chaos. And although the two would never admit it, they have a very close friendship. Ayaka is a very compassionate, attentive, and caring person, if at first sight rather rude. Although you can't tell by looking at it, she already had a formative negative incident in her childhood: the death of her newborn brother.
Sayo Aisaka (Aizaka) ( 相 坂 さ よ , Aisaka Sayo , student # 1)
Sayo has been tied to her seat in the same classroom for 60 years, she can only walk a few hundred meters from it. She is a local ghost, she is afraid of being alone at school at night and therefore mostly hangs out at the 24/7 grocery store ( Combini ), which is just within her reach. Later she can accompany Negi and his friends with the help of tools that she can inspire. Most of the time she stays near Kazumis to help her spy through her "ghostly" advantage.
Kazumi Asakura ( 朝 倉 和美 , Asakura Kazumi , student # 3)
Kazumi is the “source of information” for the class. After she has revealed Negi's secret, she develops into the troop's information collector. After she also makes a pactio with Negi during the journey into the magical world, she receives an artifact in the form of a flying camera formation - according to her abilities. She is sitting next to Sayo Aisaka in class and is her best friend.
Chisame (Senu) Hasegawa ( 長谷川 千 雨 , Hasegawa Chisame , student # 25)
Chisame loves the relaxed life of a simple school girl. The apparently fantastic composition of her class alone causes her stomach ache. In contrast, she has acquired an online identity as Chiu, the internet idol , with which she is very successful (number 1 among idols). When, as a result of her involvement in Negi's adventure, the fairytale threatens to find its way into her everyday life, she first defends herself with hands and feet before reluctantly bowing to the new reality. But she does not fail to make her snappy comments on every new, seemingly impossible occurrence. Chisame becomes Negi's partner during the Mahora Festival - mainly because she wants to prevent the magic from becoming known to everyone and thus being taken for granted.
Ku-Fei ( 古 菲 , Kū Fei , student # 12)
Ku-Fei is a master of Kung-Fu and teaches Negi in it. Ku-Fei supports Negi even without a Pactio. Her favorite pastime is the fight against “a lot of strong opponents”, and that's where she gets her money's worth in Negi's adventures.
Kaede Nagase ( 長 瀬 楓 , Nagase Kaede , student # 20)
Kaede is a ninja warrior and sees herself as Negi's protector. Her fighting power, which impresses even Ku: Nel, makes her a valuable ally even without Pactio. Only on the journey into the magical world does Kaede decide to become Negi's partner. She has the ability often used in ninjas to create doppelgangers of herself and prefers a giant shuriken along with a few other weapons, most of which are thrown weapons. Since she works out all the time, she tends to camp outdoors most of the time.
Chao Lingshen (Tao Rynshen) ( 超 鈴音 , Chao Rinshen , student # 19)
Chao is the owner of the popular "Chao Bao Zi" snack shop and a member of the school's research club. Also, it turns out that she is a great-granddaughter of Negi and comes from the future of Mars. Negi can successfully prevent your attempt to change the future by exposing the magicians. After his victory over her, she rejects his offer to graduate from the school and become a Magister Magi like him, and returns to the future.
Mana Tatsumiya ( 龍宮 真 名 , Tatsumiya Mana , Schoolgirl # 18)
Mana is a virtuoso with all kinds of firearms, but also knows other long-range tactics (e.g. tossing a coin, which she knows how to use between her fingers like a machine gun). She is a mercenary and therefore shows up with Negi's opponents. Mana was once a partner ( Ministra Magi ) of a great magician, who died two years ago. She even shows Camo-kun the Pactio card, the appearance of which indicates that the partner is dead. In the fight against Zazie's twin sister Poyo, she reveals through the full use of her powers. That she is a half-demon ( Han'yō ).
Zazie Rainyday ( ザ ジ ・ レ イ ニ ー デ イ , Zaji Reinīdei , student # 31)
Zazie is a demon who belongs to Negi's students and is a twin. Like her sister Poyo, she is very taciturn and has mastered the tremendous magical power of Cosmo Entelecheia. Zazie and Poyo, as much as they look alike, are fundamentally different in their moods. Negi's pupil accepts the decision of her teacher and lets him go, while her sister shows no understanding of his own plans. In terms of strength, they are roughly at Mana's level.

More characters

Nagi Springfield ( ナ ギ ・ ス プ リ ン グ フ ィ ー ル ド , Nagi Supuringufīrudo )
Negi's father, the “thousand master”, so called because he supposedly knows 1000 spells (Camo claims because he had 1000 partners, but that cannot be confirmed). However, most of the time he has to read them off from a notebook, since he only learned a handful of spells himself and then left wizarding school ... which doesn't prevent him from actually being the greatest magician. He has been missing for 10 years and is considered dead. Negi, however, met him briefly 6 years ago and has been looking for him ever since. His incomparable power in the field of combat magic, which Negi also wields, has so far only been compared to Rakan's powers - but only from his own stories.
Fate Averruncus ( フ ェ イ ト ・ ア ー ウ ェ ル ン ク ス , Feito Āverunkusu )
Negi's seemingly invincible archenemy. As much as they are similar in size, Fate's magical power is many times greater than that of Negi. He meets him for the first time during the kidnapping of Konoka, through which an ancient golem should be freed. He was already demonstrating his strength through petrification and a clear victory over Negi until he was forced to retreat by Evangeline. Continuing to forge plans with his followers, he intercepts the heroes at the gate of the magical world and by destroying the same portal ensures that all suspicions fall on Negi and his students, which is the first time they are officially regarded as criminals in the magical world . Later, through Rakan's stories and his own, it becomes evident that he was both an enemy of the Thousand Master in the past and that he himself is just a pawn of a much greater power that stands in Negi's path. Fate is just one of several Averruncus versions that were created based on Fate defeated in the past. Negi's main adversary is "Tertium", the averruncus of the stone (earth), which also has a special interest in defeating the boy and even attacking his counterparts, the averruncus editions of the other elements, quartum (fire), quintum (Air) and sextum (water) does not tolerate.
Dynamis ( デ ュ ナ ミ ス , Dyunamisu )
One of the greatest adversaries of Negis and his friends and, together with Fate, guardian of two of the three great keys with which the illusory products of the magical world can be wiped out. Dynamis is the last survivor of the demons who lost the war against the Thousand Master and the others 20 years ago and a former servant of the magician of the beginning. He uses the power of the key and also his own very similar to Fate and for those same purposes to create the "paradise" in their eyes. But even like his companion, despite his own enormous magical power, he does not know how to underestimate the power of his opponents and, thanks to her picture diary, recognizes Nodoka as a dangerous opponent like Fate herself. He is extremely powerful and has enormous magical powers that make it impossible to banish him in a normal way, so it requires more experienced opponents like Kaede to stop him, but against his magic and clout itself, as well as his regenerative powers that make it practically impossible to destroy, only a wizard with great magical potential like Negi herself arrives. Nonetheless, Dynamis is a man of honor and knows when to take off his hat to his opponents. But above all, this is because he thinks much further than this and has a much more significant victory in mind.
The magician of the beginning
The magician of the beginning is the antagonist and the great evil in the world of Magister Negi Magi. Although he waits for most of the story to be resurrected, he directs his characters to complete his plan. It is precisely those who are trying to free him. The magician in the beginning was Nagi's great opponent, whom he had apparently defeated without any problems, but Negi and his friends realize that even the legendary thousand master could do no more than weaken the magician so that he barely seals it could be.
Jack Rakan ( ジ ャ ッ ク ・ ラ カ ン , Jakku Rakan )
Nagi's companion and eternal rival from Team Ala Rubra. Despite his rather simple disposition, he is a master of combat and is able to acquire a fighting style simply by "copying". He is also a very costly counselor to Negi, who just like trying to outrageously assets to sell his information and selbiges makes with new fighting techniques, he invents for Negi the finishing move (dt. Latching ) "Negi Fever" . In the tournament of the magical world he competes against Negi in the final and fights him against him in a relentless fight, in which Negi reaches his limits with his newly won, dark magic. According to his stories, his strength can be compared to that of the thousand master, which is impressively displayed on his part after many fights against black magicians and fighters from the other side - so he and Nagi also have about the same number of victories in their battles against each other. With his title, Rakan of a Thousand Blades , he is famous throughout the magical world and proves that he has earned it when he uses his mighty swords with his Pactio card.
Albireo Imma ( ア ル ビ レ オ ・ イ マ , Arubireo Ima , also known as Colonel Sanders ( Ku: Nel Sanders ))
Nagi's longtime friend and member of Ala Rubra, as well as the official winner of Taos tournament. Albireo, also called "Al" by his friends, lives in a well hidden place, hidden in the complex under the school library. He has a large repertoire of powerful spells, such as gravitation-based ones, which burst in the form of huge spheres of water near his opponents. Furthermore, he has mastered the magic of creating an almost perfect image of himself, which he can control and even fight with while he is with his real body at a safe distance. He makes use of these techniques in Taos tournament to secure a place in the final with Negi. How powerful he actually is in comparison to his comrades is not known, but his artifact, with which he can capture the thoughts of people he knows and through whose use those people can make use of his body, is an interesting and helpful one Advisor to Negi and his friends, so that he can secure his first present reunion with his father by fusing Nagi's memories with his body, which is why he sometimes refers to his artifact as a last will . He is a very shrewd character, whose androgynous appearance has not changed even after 15 years of aging and whose teasing mostly target Evangeline due to his slightly suggestive preferences and her name, which is why she likes to refer to him as a perverted aubergine . Albireo's first appearance as a librarian was originally planned for the second volume of the manga, but he actually appeared for the first time during the tournament.
Takamichi T. Takahata ( 高 畑 ・ T ・ タ カ ミ チ , Takahata T. Takamichi )
Before Negi, he was the girls' class teacher. He used to belong to the group around Nagi Springfield, but is one of those people who are unable to learn magic. Instead, he has switched to a kind of fistfight based on the Iai style, in order to precisely and quickly overcome his opponent, which Negi painfully experiences during a tournament.
Kurt Goedel ( ク ル ト ・ ゲ ー デ ル , Kuruto Gēderu )
The governor of the magical world and one of Negi's opponents. As a boy he was part of Ala Rubra until he finally accepted his service in the government. He tries to win Negi for his side and purposes, both on a non-violent and full-blown tour. However, he fails despite his kendo skills and the persuasive skills with which he tries to outsmart the young heir of the thousand master in order to make this one change of side appear "tasty", both through Negi's own experiences and through Help from his friends.
Eisun Konoe ( 近衛 詠 春 , Konoe Eishun )
Eishun is the head of the Kansai Magician Society, whose headquarters are in Kyoto, and Konoka's father. He is also a member of Ala Rubra and a talented kendo fighter, even if his achievements cannot be compared with those of Setsuna and he is also subject to the petrification spell during Fate's first attack. As for age group and looks, he's quite Asuna's type.
Gateau Kagura Vandenburg ( ガ ト ウ ・ カ グ ラ ・ ヴ ァ ン デ ン バ ー グ , Gatō Kagura fon Vandenbāgu )
At that time Takamichi's mentor and member of Ala Rubra. He used a fighting style similar to that of his "student" and was one of the protectors of the princess of the magical world - Asuna. He was fatally injured as a result of past events and gave Takamichi the honorable duty of watching over Asuna. Outwardly, he was very similar to Asuna's secret crush and also had a preference for smoking.
Kotarō Inugami ( 犬 上 小 太郎 , Inugami Kotarō )
He is a Han'yō , a cross between a human and a wolf demon. His only desire is to measure his strength with negi. In the course of the series he changes from enemy to friend and becomes Negi's only age-appropriate comrade. As a lycanthrope, he is also able to transform himself and increase his strength unexpectedly, as Ku: Nel has thus considered his own possible defeat during the tournament. Kotaro is also very close friends with Natsumi and Chizuru.
Nekane Springfield ( ネ カ ネ ・ ス プ リ ン グ フ ィ ー ル ド , Nekane Supuringufīrudo )
Nekane is Negi's "foster sister". She is always concerned about him and his future and has taught him everything he knows about good manners. So is the habit of always being nice to women. She is not a really strong sorceress, but that doesn't prevent her from supporting Negi with all her care. Asuna reminds him a lot of her, that's why he feels the need to be with her right from the start.
Anna "Anya" Yurievna Cocolova (Kokorova) ( ア ン ナ ・ ユ ー リ エ ウ ナ ・ コ コ ロ ウ ァ , Anna Yūrieuna Kokorova )
Negi's childhood friend. She is also training to become a Magister Magi . When she visits him in Japan to find out why he is not coming home straight away for the summer vacation, it can be clearly seen that she is anything but okay with the feminine environment in which Negi is staying.

Conception

The basic theme is initially the school history, but then switches to a magic and action-oriented search for Negi's missing father. The search storyline is broken down into different story arcs. The development and description of the people involved and their relationships with one another is detailed and makes up a large part of the story. As a result, the main story progresses very slowly. It serves more as a red thread that runs through the entire arcs of the story.
