Nelson Nogier (* 27. May 1996 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who, since June 2016 the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League is under contract on their farm team , the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League on the position of the defender plays.

Career

Nogier spent most of his junior years at clubs in his hometown, Saskatoon . First between 2011 and 2012 with the Saskatoon Contacts and after the selection in the Bantam Draft of the Western Hockey League with the beginning of the 2012/13 season with the Saskatoon Blades . For the blades, which he represented in the Memorial Cup 2013 , the defender ran until mid-December 2014, before he was transferred to league rivals Red Deer Rebels . Previously, Nogier had received the Daryl K. (Doc) Seaman Trophy at the end of the 2013/14 season for his academic achievements in connection with his sporting successes. He was also selected in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in 101st place by the Winnipeg Jets from the National Hockey League . After his move, the defender ran until the end of the 2015/16 season and took part in the Memorial Cup again.

Following his junior career, the Canadian was signed by the Winnipeg Jets in June 2016. They put him in their farm team , the Manitoba Moose , in the American Hockey League during the 2016/17 season . In March 2017, Nogier was appointed to the NHL squad for the first time, where he finally made his debut.

International

For his home country Nogier played at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2013 for the Canada Western selection . He finished the tournament with the team in ninth place. The defender prepared a goal in five tournament appearances.
