Nemanja Janković ( Serbian - Cyrillic Немања Јанковић ; born February 7, 1988 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian ice hockey player and coach who has been under contract with HK Belgrade in the Serbian ice hockey league since 2016 .

Career

Nemanja Janković began his career as a hockey player with the Bradford Rattlers, for whom he played in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League until 2008 . He then played from 2008 to 2012 for the team from Finlandia University from Michigan in the third division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and was elected to the league's all-academic team in 2010 and 2011 . He has been active in the local Serbian ice hockey league since 2013 and became Serbian champion there with HK Partizan Belgrade in 2014, 2015 and 2016 . After the third championship title, he moved to local rivals HK Belgrade .

International

For Serbia and Montenegro, Janković took part in Division II of the U-18 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 and the U-20 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 . After the split of Montenegro, he played for the all-Serbian team at the U-20 World Cup in 2007, also in Division II.

In the men's area, Janković played for the Serbian team at the World Championships in Division II in 2007 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 and 2015, as well as in Division I at the World Cup in 2010 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .

Coaching career

In addition to his active playing career, Janković was assistant coach of the Serbian junior team, which competed in Division II, at the 2014 U20 World Cup . Two years later he was the head coach of the Serbs at the U20 World Cup and assistant coach at the Men's World Cup . At the 2017 World Cup , he served as the head coach of the Serbian men in Division II, as well as at the 2019 World Cup , when he led the Serbs to promotion to Division I.
