Nerijus Ališauskas (born June 6, 1991 in Elektrėnai ) is a Lithuanian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Slovan Bratislava from the Slovak extra league since July 2020 and plays there in the position of defender .
Career
Nerijus Ališauskas began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown with Energija Elektrėnai , with whose second team he won the main round of the Lithuanian league in the 2006/07 season , but the final against his own first team, which as a participant in the higher-class Latvian league for the Endgame was set, lost. He then moved to Latvia for HK Liepājas Metalurgs , who initially used him in junior teams. From 2009 he belonged to the trunk of the professional team with whom he played in the Belarusian extra league. At times he was also used in the second team, with which he was Latvian champion in 2011 . After the club got into financial difficulties due to the insolvency of the eponymous main sponsor Metalurgs Liepājas and had to stop adult games, Ališauskas moved to EV Füssen in the Oberliga Süd in 2013 . After a year in the Allgäu , he went to Kazakhstan, where he first played with HK Almaty for the Kazakh ice hockey championship and was the top scorer among the defensive players. From 2015 to 2017 he played for HK Saryarka Karaganda in the Wysschaja Hockey League , but was also used for HK Arystan Temirtau in the Kazakh league . From 2017 to 2020, the Lithuanian played for Dinamo Riga in the Continental Hockey League , before joining HC Slovan Bratislava from the Slovakian Extra League in July 2020 .
International
For Lithuania Ališauskas took part in the junior division at the U18 World Championships in Division II 2007 and Division I in 2008 and 2009 , when he was named the best player of his team and was also the top scorer among the tournament's defenders, as well as the U20 World Championships in the division I took part in 2008 and 2011 , when he was the captain of the Lithuanian team, and Division II in 2009 and 2010 , when he was also voted best defender of the tournament with the most assists.
In the men's field, he was in his country's squad at the World Championships of Division I in 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 when he was the top scorer among the tournament's defenders, in 2016 when he was voted best player on his team, in 2018 and 2019 . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualifications for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi and in Beijing in 2022 .
