Nick E. Tarabay
Nick Emad Tarabay (born August 28, 1975 in Beirut , Lebanon ) is a Lebanese -American actor . He gained fame primarily through the role of Ashur from the Spartacus series .
life and career
Nick Tarabay was born in Lebanon, where most of his family still live today. After graduating from high school, he moved to New York City . Parallel to his first engagements at the New York theater, he worked in clothing stores for the Hugo Boss and Gucci brands . He took acting classes at the T. Schreiber Studio in Manhattan . In 2004 he moved to Los Angeles , where he was tutored by acting teacher Larry Moss.
He made his camera debut in 2000 with an extra role in an episode of Sex and the City . A small supporting role as Matush in the series The Sopranos followed. After moving to Los Angeles, he appeared in guest roles on CSI: Miami , The Unit , Moonlight , Without a Trace, and Navy CIS . From 2008 to 2009 he took on the role of Axel Finet in the LA Crash series .
In 2010 he was for the role of Ashur in the series Spartacus the cable network Starz occupied. He played the role until 2012 and thus increased his popularity. He was also seen in this role in the miniseries Spartacus: Gods of the Arena , which aired in 2011. Further series appearances followed in Detroit 1-8-7 , Common Law , Burn Notice , Major Crimes , Castle and Taken - Time is your enemy . In 2013 Tarabay was seen in a small role as Klingon in the movie Star Trek Into Darkness . He played recurring roles in the series Believe , Person of Interest , Longmire and Arrow .
In 2018 Tarabay starred as Sonny in the film Pacific Rim: Uprising . From 2017 to 2018 he played Cotyar Ghazi in the series The Expanse .
In addition to his acting activities, Tarabay occasionally lends his voice to video game characters, for example in Anthem or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare .
