Nicola Raab
Nicola Raab (* 1972 in Regensburg , Bavaria ) is a German opera director . She directs European and North American stages.
Live and act
After studying theater and music science as well as psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich , she initially worked as an assistant director at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich , the Vienna State Opera , the Zurich Opera House , the Teatro La Fenice ( Venice ), at the Bregenz Festival , the Salzburg Festival and the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence .
She made her US debut in 2007 with Béatrice et Bénédict at the Chicago Opera Theater. Her final international breakthrough came in 2010 with Thaïs at Göteborgs Operan. Since then she has directed musical theater at the leading opera houses in Seville , Valencia , Lisbon , Tallinn , Mexico City , Bratislava , Copenhagen , Helsinki , Moscow and Los Angeles . Raab likes to discover still unknown voices, but has also worked with Plácido Domingo , Nino Machaidze and Noah Stewart.
