Nikolaus Reinhard von Hanenfeldt (born April 6, 1723 in Courland , † August 11, 1805 in Neisse ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

Nikolaus Reinhard came from an old Baltic family and was the son of Reinhold Karl von Hanenfeldt († 1765), lord of Tixtensee, Dünhof in Kurland and his wife Margarethe Anna, née von Krummes, widowed von Botzheim.

Military career

Hanenfeldt was employed in the Prussian Army in 1739 as a private corporal in the king's regiment . From August 1740 he was with Grenadier Guard Battalion No. 6 and took part in the battles near Hohenfriedberg and Thrush during the campaign in 1744/45 . In the meantime he had become an ensign there on September 13, 1745 . At the beginning of the Seven Years' War , Hanenfeldt was a second lieutenant . He fought near Kolin , Hochkirch , Liegnitz , Torgau and finally became captain and company commander after the end of the war . On May 24, 1770, he was promoted to major and as such he was commander of the Grenadier Guard Battalion on January 13, 1777. Hanenfeldt commanded the battalion during the Bavarian Succession War and was in the following years on May 22, 1781 Lieutenant Colonel and on 5 June 1782 to Colonel promoted. On November 21, 1786, Hanenfeldt received the order Pour le Mérite for his long service . The following year, Friedrich Wilhelm II appointed him commandant of Potsdam . He also appointed Hanenfeldt on February 7, 1789 as chief of the infantry regiment "Margrave Heinrich" No. 42 . He was promoted to major general three months later . Hanenfeldt demittierte December 29, 1794 Lieutenant General with an annual pension of 1200 thalers .

Hanenfeldt had married Maria Charitas Jeny (* May 4, 1745; † April 9, 1810 in Neisse) on September 5, 1786 in Potsdam. The following children were born from the marriage:
